Internship/Consultant Opportunities (Unpaid)
The Global Health Institute for Innovation and Leadership, Inc. (GHIIL) is a global health nonprofit organization grounded on the principle of strengthening the economic conditions and the quality of health in communities from a multidisciplinary and collaborative venture approach. Through leadership and innovation, the GHIIL works collaboratively with various entities to provide capacity and infrastructure development assistance to those who have a shared sense of purpose.
A nonprofit that is located in Maryland, GHIIL is planning to develop a public health training and capacity building center on donated land (one acre) in Ghana, West Africa. The land was donated by GHIIL’s Founder. The land is located in Tsito (Ho District- Volta Region). In order for GHIIL to begin any work, GHIIL will need assistance in the following:
Revising and updating processes, documentation, and the infrastructure to support the administrative function of the organization
Updating policies and procedures, marketing and public relation materials, updating international forms and documentations, program calendars, etc.
Prepare the GHIIL’s correspondence with external entities.
Support the GHIIL’s logistical needs as needed.
Identifying and producing research on key public health issues.
Supporting key partners and collaborating on joint programmatic activities
Additional duties as needed and discussed
GHIIL is currently looking for volunteers, interns, and/or pro bono consultants to support the development and implementation of several administrative functions and programmatic initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED SKILLS:
Ability to communicate effectively across verbal and written communications
Possess interpersonal skills necessary to execute tasks that require communication with external entities on behalf of the GHIIL
Demonstrate ability to prioritize projects with multiple deadlines, attention to detail, ability to work effectively in independent and team settings
Prior experience conducting public health research
Proficiency in Google Products & Services, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
A self-starter that is task-oriented, considerate, flexible, and seeks opportunities to improve
Overall, ideal candidates should be able to work independently, are proactive to address discrepancies and complexities that arise, and meet deadlines and requests. This is a virtual and unpaid opportunity with flexible hours. This position is ideal for candidates that want to give back to the community, meet credit or volunteer hours, or need additional experience within their career portfolio.
