Gloria Mensah is a licensed psychotherapist at a private practice, Treasures of the Heart Therapeutic Services in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Gloria received her M.A. from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and a B.A. in American Studies with emphasis in Sociology, Psychology and African American Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.
She currently works full time at a state level behavioral health agency as a provider relations specialist. In her role, she provides training, technical assistance, and clinical guidance to community based behavioral and substance use agencies.
As the owner and clinical director of her private practice, Gloria’s brings several years of clinical experience, which includes implementing evidence-based practices and working with individuals struggling from substance use disorders, trauma, stress, anxiety and depression. Gloria’s therapeutic work focuses on transitional age youth, and adult populations from immigrant populations, first-generation, women of color—specifically women of African descent. Gloria’s therapeutic approach leads with the notion that healing begins at awareness of one’s hopes and dreams from the present into the future; and the individual is the center from which healing is directed and achieved.
Dr. Lisa Marie Goodson is a native Washingtonian who has an extensive academic and professional background in public health, allied health sciences, nutritional sciences, and business administration. Currently, she is a professorial lecturer at The George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health and has produced original research on sociodemographic, socioeconomic, and dietary factors that influence health status among people and families in the community. Her personal crusade is to eliminate health disparities with effective dissemination of accurate and relevant information regarding optimal health and nutrition.
Dr. Goodson received her B.A. in anthropology from George Washington University; MBA from Trinity Washington University, and her Ph.D. and M.S. in nutritional sciences from Howard University in Washington, D.C. She also runs her own financial planning practice in downtown Washington, D.C. and loves engaging in volunteer activities throughout her community.
With a Master’s Degree in International Development Porscha Winston has focused most of her career on fragile states, countering violent extremism, and the transition from humanitarian aid to development assistance. She began her career as a Peace Corps Volunteer and since 2009, she has worked with local community groups, foreign governments and ministries, country offices and large and small NGOs on the development of projects that improve overall standard of living. She has served as a team leader, coordinator and project director throughout her career. Ms. Winston also holds a degree in Philosophy from UC Berkeley.
